Final Exam

Get your falafels at the Falafel Kitchen! Only on Acland St

No not the cheesy 1980’s horror movie but more so the story of my life. Yes I’ve finished what could possibly be the last exam of my entire life and I’m feeling so friggin relieved. The moment I stepped out of that examination hall, I felt like screaming out “fuck yeah” a million times but only managed a couple of shouts. If the Swedes can open their windows and yell out to the top of their lungs each month, then I can too. Unfortunately I still have a couple of subjects to complete before I graduate (including filming a documentary) but those evil, rather pointless periods of mental torture are far behind.

To celebrate, I went out last night with a few friends to the Bigmouth on Acland St in St Kilda. A good place to start your night since it’s got plenty of couches to sit down and talk without overbearing music. After a few hours there, we managed to get into some club on Fitzroy St without waiting in line since one of my friends friends knew the door staff. I swear this guy knew pretty much everyone in St Kilda \endash a true socialite. It was as if he was a politician on an electoral campaign. Pretty impressive to know that many people but personally, I couldn’t handle being stopped every 5 minutes. Still knowing someone like that helps for introductions.

Now that I’m holidays, I’m off to ‘little Hobbiton’ in Tasmania for a week to see the pares, catch up with old friends and take some photography. It’s a beautiful place and hopefully I’ll be able to post some updates while I’m down there. I bought myself a new 256MB memory stick for the camera and a mini tripod. Expect some fantastic photo galleries on my return.

School of Rock is out on DVD. Buy it. Must get this otherwise I’ll be subject to lengthy taunts by my film friends. Another case of an eagerly awaiting film getting a US DVD release while it screens in cinemas here. Damn those stupid movie studios. Reading this. Ellen you were right. Everybody should read this at least once in their life.

I never did get Catch 22 finished, despite the fact that it was regularly making me laugh out loud last Christmas when I was down under. Speaking of laughing out loud, we saw Shrek 2 last night and it didn’t disappoint - Very funny.

Hey Jimmy… I’m glad you’re enjoying Catch-22… one of my all-time faves! I think I’m due for a re-read… I’ve never seen the film although I’ve always meant to, I think it is supposed to be pretty good(?) Have fun in Tassie. Yossarian lives!

Dude, I did as I was told and bought School of Rock last night and I will admit that, yeah, go out and fucking buy it because it’s something you will be able to watch time and time and again. Preferably with some sort of booze and or otherwise readily available substance enhanced state of blissfull piece of mind (WOW!) too, yeah?

Seriously, it’s both cool and funny as fuck. Jack Black is the man. “I don’t go on a diet because I like to eat. What? You got a problem with that?” Brilliant.

Fun for you and yo momma.
