A Very Long Engagement

Jean-Pierre Jeunet is back! After the monumental success of his 2001 masterpiece Amelie, Jeunet has reunited with actress Audrey Tautou as well as other Jeunet regulars Dominique Pinon and Dominique Bettenfeld and most of the production crew from his previous films to make the World War I drama A Very Long Engagement. Perhaps the most notable change in his production team is the use of David Lynch’s favourite composer, Angelo Badalamenti. But you just have to go over to the French official site to hear that his music fits in perfectly with the film (or at least on first impressions).

It’s been a while since I’ve seen some live bands and actually taken a camera with me. I did see Silver Ray a few weeks back at Bar Open which was brilliant but I totally forgot to take the camera since it was a last minute decision.
Tangled

That’s how my head feels right now. This has to be up there in the top 3 most stressful weeks of my life. I swear I’ve aged 5 years in 6 days! Uni has come down like a mofo with one group IT project nearly sending me off the rails. The lecturer warned us about how heated some of the debates can get amongst group members (including one person getting sent to hospital last year!) and let’s just say I was pretty pissed earlier in the week. It so could’ve been two people entering casualty if it got any worse. But things have cooled and it looks like the most laborious work is behind us (I hope!). Then there is the editing of three different video projects at once, the filming of another and the reading of pompous academic articles that have caused me to have a fucking great headache for the past four days. But woohoooooo Friday is here and that means no more stress come 5pm! Let the rejuvenation process begin!
