Dude You’re So Miscast!

Just finished watching At The Movies and I’m convinced. Definitely the most miscast role in a film this year and I haven’t even seen Elizabethtown yet. I’m sorry but Bloom just doesn’t fit in a Cameron Crowe movie period. He’s no John Cusack and the closest actor I can think of for today’s Cusack is Topher Grace. Grace should have got this role and ditched In Good Company (which was very average despite some moments here and there). Kirsten Dunst looks like she’s having fun and at least she has some personality. Bloom just looks completely out of place.
I was planning to see Elizabethtown because it is a Cameron Crowe picture (Say Anything…, a personal favourite and I still love Almost Famous) but the Bloom-factor might sway my attendance.
iTunes Australia is now open!

Most of you probably know this already but it launched this morning and tracks are AU$1.69 a pop, albums AU$16.99 and videos are AU$3.39. I think tracks are a little high considering the US exchange rate should have the price of around AU$1.33. The biggest problem with the store is that the tracks are only encoded at 128-Kbps AAC format and I like the ability to rip my CD’s at higher qualities. But the instant gratification is there. Feel free to buy me a $200 gift certificate ;)
SonyBMG still not signed on but that will probably be only a matter of time. Read more on that here. And you can’t purchase TV shows in Australia just yet.
Cinema Podcasts

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve essentially become an ipod spokesperson on the new site and I don’t really talk about much else besides that shiny encapsulation of musical bliss. But it’s my drug - I need a shot every minute of every day otherwise I’ll shake and vomit involuntarily. The new kick-ass headphones drown out all the sound from the outside world and it makes public transport uber enjoyable.
A few weeks back I talked up podcasts and I mentioned that I was on the hunt for film review/business one’s. Well I’ve found two which go beyond what I expected. Two very well produced shows that don’t insult your intellect and keep you wanting more.
