Happy Mothers Day Mum!
Cue the strings. Happy Mother Day mum! If you can, give your mum a big hug and a kiss. She deserves it!

Wolfmother Storm US

Wolfmother
Say what you will about Wolfmother but they’ve certainly come a long way since playing local Australian pubs and live venues. Their album has debuted on the American Billboard charts at number 22, the first Australian band to debut on the charts in over 10 years (well I heard something along those lines on Triple J this morning. Please correct me if I’m wrong). A freakin huge achievement and it’s good seeing fellow bloggers being there from the very beginning to show support for Aussie talent.

They’re coming back to Australia to tour in July and like all success stories, tickets for local shows have sold out already (Melbourne has and Sydney’s first gig has too).

Mission Impossible III
(2006)

Wow! What a disappointment this was. Maybe I was expecting more given the J.J. Abrams rap sheet (creator of TV’s LOST, Alias and 24) but even he couldn’t save this movie from being another empty, expensive action movie. The major problem with the film is the non-existent plot and ’seen-it-all-before’ action scenarios, despite being competently handled by Abrams. And he tries to inject an emotional level to the movie, a ploy successfully used in his television shows that just don’t work here at all. Cruise is Cruise in this movie, not Ethan Hunt so the care factor is very limiting. Michelle Monaghan looks really hot though and Simon Pegg injects some much needed humour (albeit for about 5 minutes) so if you take everything at face value, you just might enjoy yourself. Just don’t look back on it.
