Fincher’s Zodiac trailer

It’s been a long time coming, after a number of re-shoots but one of my most anticipated films of 2006 is now set for a March 2007 release and here’s the first look. In typical Fincher style, it’s dark, gritty, well shot and a serial killer is on the loose. The 70’s look is great too. I’m still not 100% convinced on the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal (he just looks out of place here).
Simpsons Movie Trailer

I guess a lot is riding on the success of The Simpsons movie since any fan will tell you the show hasn’t been great for a few years now. Checking the IMDB listings, they’ve brought many of the original creators back on board to script it. This trailer is more like a teaser than a full trailer since I don’t think any of the footage is from the movie. A smart little idea nevertheless. Those who don’t have Quicktime, you can watch it here at youTube.
Short Reviews #19

Lost (Season 3) (First 6 episodes) (2006)

16 freakin’ weeks until the next episode is just crazy shit! Especially when the creators said they weren’t going to have breaks this season. But my eager disappointment just goes to show how addictive the show can be particularly when it ends on such a cliffhanger. So far, this season hasn’t been as consistent or eventful as the previous ones, with new characters popping up that don’t amount to much (yet) in neglect of some of the favourite regulars, and a little too much emphasis on the Sawyer/Kate relationship which is a tad cheesy to say the least. And the plot isn’t moving as quickly as it once did which may turn off those who are looking for lots of answers in season 3. But hopefully the creatives have got something huge in store when the show returns in February and all these events are designed for a larger purpose. I don’t believe they’ve dropped the ‘jump the shark’ moment just yet either so if anything, it’s worth sticking with the show up until that point. But if this season turns out to be one big tease, then I’m checking in someplace else.
