Liam Finn
Talented musician is young Liam. He played the guitar, drums, an ipod, various pedals and was joined by fellow female musician EJ to make his sounds come to life last night at a sold out solo gig at the East Brunswick Club. He was there to promote his new solo CD ‘I’ll Be Lightning’ out within the next two weeks here in Australia.
He played most of the tracks off the new album but it was his improvisation that had me really impressed. He’s definitely turning into a more diverse musician while still maintaining signature riffs and sounds. I’d love to see him play with a band of musicians perhaps on the same page as Okkervil River, Guillemots, or even Calexico. Not to say his band Betchadupa aren’t diverse or decent but I think it would prove interesting nevertheless.
