Heima - Finally!

My weekend was quite frankly perfect. I’m not going to go into particulars since this is a pop-culture blog and not a personal diary but I can say that amongst the many, many, many, many, many, many, many highlights was finally getting around to watching the Sigur Ros documentary - Heima. After having anticipating this film for so long, I can finally say that if you love amazing Icelandic imagery and the music of Sigur Ros, you will have died and gone to heaven. It truly is spectacular in every sense of the word. And as much as I would have liked to have seen this in the cinema, my conditions were even better. But even still, taking those out of the equation, it is still one of the best visual documentaries I have ever seen. It keeps the members of the band still pretty much a mystery so don’t expect a Sigur Ros biopic. But I prefer not knowing too much about the members themselves and rather let the music do the talking. I only made in through disk one which contains the film but disk two is loaded with just over 2 and half hours of live performances. Even the DVD design itself is brilliant. A must buy.

i bought the special edition with the photo book as well.. i’ve watched about 20 minutes of it as my weekend was quite hectic but that 20 minutes was beaut!
when I saw “more details on my blog” I got all excited and thought it might be a minty-fresh newly designed hooverblog, but no!
gah, couldn’t you have waited to settle down with your new ladyfriend until after you finished your redesign??
Lucky: I considered that version but it was kinda pricey. I wouldn’t say I’m their biggest fan but I do like them a great deal so the standard DVD was enough for me.
Harley: Nope :)
