Hackers (1995)

Ah Hackers is nearly 15 years old and I finally scored the DVD for $9.99 and made myself an iPod version.

I remember loving this movie when it came out. The soundtrack, the custom laptops, the clothes (although who dressed like that in the 90’s?), ahhhhhh…. In retrospect, it actually still holds up reasonably well if you forgive the clichéd script. It’s a fun movie, probably the most exciting a movie can be about a group of computer hackers.

Any computer geek will always dream of being a hacker (especially at 16) but I was (and am) nowhere near smart enough. Even if it was hacking into your school’s computers and changing your grades.

I also loved it when Dade (aka Crash Override) hacks his schools sprinkler system to go off at a certain time.

Oh and the movie has a young Angelia Jolie in it, loves leather and she gets a little topless. Nerds of the world unite indeed!

Lyns and I went to Geelong for a friend’s wedding and on the way back home, we stopped off in Daylesford. I’ve always loved the range of flora around Daylesford ever since shooting a wedding back there a couple of years ago. This time of year however, it’s pure golden magic!
