About two months ago, I decided to change to the developers version of Google Chrome (version 4 beta). The MAIN reason for switching apart from the speed is the ability to download Chrome Extensions. Adblock Plus there? Check. Firebug? Well there’s Firebug Lite (which isn’t as stable as the Firefox version but when combined with Chrome’s development tools, I’m good to go). IE Tab? Yep. Now you can’t use the extensions in the stable release of Chrome (v3) but I’ve had smooth sailing for the past two months with the Chrome beta and a number of extensions. Sure not all the extensions are as mature as their Firefox counterparts, but so far, so good. I’m also using a PC but from all reports, Chrome is hell fast on the Mac. And for us web designers who utilise Javascript and love it, how much faster is it really? Let’s see. In fact, even if you don’t design and develop for the web but want to run that news or content-heavy site that much faster, then you’d be stupid to not even give Chrome a try.

Aesthetically, the browser doesn’t look that great at first but you can easily customise it if need be. In the end, as much as I still love Firefox, it’s all about speed, memory usage and overall feeling like I am getting somewhere with smooth sailing that impresses me. How about you?
