Bjork Volta Behind The Scenes
I remember back when I was writing an essay on Lars von Trier’s Dancer In The Dark for film class, my lecturer marked me down for my analysis simply due to his disliking for Björk. He thought she was terrible in the film and disliked her music and therefore, hated the film and my essay. I then in turn ended up hating him and wondered why I even attempted to write any more essays for someone who clearly had no appreciation for all areas of cinema and for that matter, different musical stylings. The fact that he carried on to the class, smug as all fuck to prove that he was a cinematic literature genius by claiming Citizen Kane was the greatest movie of all time just rubbed salt on that open wound (whether he was correct in that sentiment is arguable but c’mon it’s such an easy, obvious choice!).

Ultimately charming and heart-warming Pixar effort is a sheer delight from start to finish. Homage's to 2001, E.T and all your favourite childhood Sci-Fi movies are plentiful and just to realise so much emotion from an animated robot that hardly talks throughout the entire movie is a feat in itself.
