Chris Cunningham’s Gucci Flora Ad 


Whilst we have to wait a while for Chris Cunningham to get off his lazy arse and make an exceptional feature film, he’s been busy creating music and this new ad for Gucci ‘Flora’. Shot over four days in Latvia during July last year, the film’s field was created using more than 20,000 fake flowers. Also best to watch in YouTube’s HD quality if you watch it on YouTube directly.

Chris added a lot to the original idea, making the whole project more majestic and cinematic. We strive to give as much creative space as possible to great directors that are involved in our projects so we avoid setting limitations at the outset. Chris developed the initial storyboard by adding his own principles and aesthetics.

He also remixed Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’ with his unique musical interpretation. And is that Natalie Portman’s voice at the end?

I thought about writing a post purely on movie trailers that make you desperately want to see the film in question rather than just go “Eh. I’ll wait for the DVD”. They ARE mine! 

Mmmmm moccaccino!
A mountain of potentially interesting releases came out today including – Coffee and Cigarettes, Before Sunset, Hellboy, The Ladykillers and the Aussie production Tom White. I’m keen to see all of them but chances are I’ll only catch the first two in cinemas. And I’ve still gotta catch Donnie in theatres too. Friends have seen Hellboy and The Ladykillers and told me to wait for DVD.
