New Francis and Fountain Commentary 

It’s great to see Francis back behind the director’s chair after pretty much a 10 year absence. Youth Without Youth is a love story wrapped in a mystery. Sounds a little like a David Lynch movie. Personally, I prefer knowing next to nothing about potentially great films which is why the trailer (16MB Quicktime) is perfect since it reveals next to nothing other than I really want to see this around the Christmas/New Year period when it gets released.

Also, Darren Aronofsky has posted his commentary track for The Fountain on his new website. Turns out the studio’s didn’t want him to do one so he decided to take it upon himself. Fuck yes! I wish more director’s would follow suit! The DVD isn’t out here in Australia just yet (10th October) so this should prove a worthwhile listen for fans of the film to play along when they get their DVDs.

    A new album in 2009 is doubtful but a live DVD out in March and the score to Richard Kelly's (Donnie Darko's) next film The Box in November. Can't wait! Via Pitchfork.
