Incognito

Considered to be THE pioneers of acid jazz, Incognito played at Billboards last night to kick off their new world tour. Of course, this wasn’t the original line-up as they first burst onto the scene in 1981 with their debut record Jazz Funk. But an 8 piece band are always good fun to shoot and I had plenty of opportunities. Founding member Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick told the crowd a number of stories throughout his illustrious career and the crowd loved it. Acid jazz isn’t really my thing but there was no denying the band gave the audience their monies worth. More photos here.
Supporting were Melbourne jazz/funk/soul outfit Pablo Discobar. These boys were quite good and often play at the Night Cat here in Fitzroy, Melbourne so check them out if you’re in the mood for some funky tunes.
