Video ipod here!

Yep, Apple tried to fool us all with claims they weren’t ready to push a video ipod into the marketplace but here it is. A new 2.5 inch screen, lighter and thinner than the 4th generation ipods, 20 hour battery life, 30Gb and 60Gb models and best of all, they come in the sexy ipod Nano black. So who’s buying?
The iTunes store lets you buy music videos and TV shows for US$1.99 a pop but don’t expect to hook up your iPod to your TV and get DVD quality pictures since the resolution is only 320 x 240. Still the convergence factor is convenient and I’d definitely watch an episode of Lost on the train. Sadly Australia still hasn’t got a fucking iTunes store. We might get it soon but I’m getting really impatient.
In terms of the new design, I figured they would have flipped the screen on the side to give a larger screen size. They could have even redeveloped the scroll wheel technology by placing scrolls on the sides of the ipod. Plus how long will the battery last when watching heaps of video content? Anyway, I’m still in love.
