Lost: Season 6 Premiere

Lost - Season 6
Well it didn’t reveal that much but they did give the answer to one of the longer running questions. The first episode was a little uneventful but the second shifted things into typical awesome LOST mode. As per usual, they ended on another cliffhanger. The man in black is bad-ass!

Lost: Season 6 Promos & Extras

Two weeks to go! Tuesday, February 2nd is when all the answers to all the questions that the show has been hinting for the past five seasons will start to be revealed. These promos unfortunately show no new footage since the rumors are that from the first second of the new season, major spoilers await.

If you’re not a fan of the show or couldn’t keep up on TV, I really urge you to sit down and slowly get through the DVD or Blu-rays of each season because it all makes sense in the end. It’s not complicated to follow and there are themes and theories in the show that go as superficial or deep as you want them to be. But the writing is always fantastic, the characters great and the surprises plentiful.

What has me insanely excited for the final season is the creators were given creative freedom to end the show this season the way THEY wanted. Whereas some TV series can be taken off air half way through a season or forced to tie up loose ends quickly via the networks, the creators of Lost were given the opportunity to bring complete closure to the show.

Miroir Noir – Neon Bible Archives (2009)

I have to admit that I was not overly pumped to see Miroir Noir after the very disappointing A Skin, A Night shot and directed by French-go-to-indie-music-filmmaker Vincent Moon. Typically I love Moon’s Takeaway Shows but as a longer documentary, that film didn’t cut it for me. Luckily with Miroir Noir, we have a different director, Vincent Morriset, who understands what it takes to make a great music documentary/concert film – show the band performing – both in snippets and in full! We get to see WHY Arcade Fire are such an amazing band live, whilst still giving us a peak into their recording process. Moon is still on camera and does an amazing job with grainy digital video, highlights include taking the band into the centre of the crowd to sing ‘Wake Up’, have them play in two elevators and moshing it with the kiddies. He gets unprecedented access to so many live indie bands of this era, the filmmakers had no shortage of footage to work with. I’ll admit, I wouldn’t mind a less grainy Arcade Fire doco down the track too, much in the vein of Sigur Ros’ Heima, shot with a little more clarity and filmic camera work, but for now this will please the fans. The DVD of Miroir Noir (with additional footage) will be available at the end of March.
