Camera Upgrade

Figured it was time for a camera upgrade and now is the right time to buy the Canon 5D since they are running the M80 promotion. Sure I could have waited for the Canon 5D MKII (or whatever they will call it) but this is more than enough for what I need it for.
I also decided to get the Canon 50mm 1.4 USM. I think I will go prime’s from now on :)
All this new gear means I am selling my old 350D and a bunch of lenses and gear. Check my flickr profile for my details and msg me if you’re keen for prices.
Tegan and Sara

Those pixie-haired Canadians brought their inoffensive pop-rock to the Forum last night under sold out conditions. Clearly there is a lot of love for Tegan and Sara and as a fan of the album So Jealous, I was slightly disappointed with their live act. There was nothing wrong with it really but I felt it just lacked a certain energy and spark. But perhaps that was because this was my second gig in a row where I wasn’t shooting from the photo pit. I had photographer access since I got into the venue as a photographer, but when I went to the front, I needed a specific photo pass and when I told the bouncer they didn’t give me one, he wouldn’t let me in. And by the time it would have taken me to go all the way back to the entrance to grab one, I would’ve only been able to shoot one song (and since their songs are so short, it would’ve sucked ass). To top it all off, the gig started at 9pm! Like when does a big act like this start their performance at 9pm? Grrrrrrrrrrr
Okay grumpy photographer has vented. Feeling better now :)
Architecture in Helsinki

Friday night the talented and energetic 6 piece Australian band Architecture in Helsinki hit the Billboard stage a little after 11pm to a sold out crowd. It was hot, sweaty and all the cool kids were there. I’m not overly familiar with their music but after the performance they put on, I’m keen to grab hold of their albums. More photos here.
