The Day The Music Died…

1.8 years old and my beloved 4G 40Gb ipod is going to the ipod grave. The service is on Saturday 12pm - 12:01pm for those who want to attend. Light refreshments and food will be provided.

This is the second ipod I’ve owned. The first was the same model but the hard drive failed. Luckily it was under warranty at the time. This time, the screen came up with the dreaded unhappy face everytime I reset it which is never a good sign. So I attempted to open it up and this isn’t as easy as you’d think. Since my warranty was void anyway, I thought “what the hell” though. Now I don’t recommend you use a swiss army knife to open it. I’ve seen a few guides on how to pry it open and they all recommend using hard plastic. Probably for good reason because as soon as metal touches the screen, it damages the LCD you can see above. But I blame all of this after coming home from a Saturday night and trying to fix it. Not a good idea.

Anyhoo, I’m now on the lookout for a replacement until the new video ipod makes its way onto the shelves. If anybody has a second-hand iPod (30Gb or higher) they want to sell, shoot me an email.
